I can't say enough about CSLA and School Library Learning 2.0!
The suggestions for this thing (#9) were amazing! Google Blog Search, Blog Pulse, and Edublogs award winning sites were my favorites.
I am very happy having a blog and am seeing all different applications for a blog. This year with budget cuts, I lost my library assistant so I am going to try having eighth graders as library pages. I am considering creating a blog for my library pages where they would be able to see what there is to do and instructions for just about all the tasks they would be working on.
Something else I learned... I have put some links on my blog. Since I usually have my blog open these days, it seemed to make sense to link to the sites I am using along with this course. But... the links always opened in the current tab unless I remembered to right click. So I thought I would go to help in Blogger and see if I could change it so that all my links would open in a new tab. I found a link to a blog post that was very helpful and did the trick. It wasn't so easy to find the code that I had to replace so I definitely feel a great sense of accomplishment and am reminded of this incredible virtual community we are a part of.
